Directions

Forage is the most important component of a horse’s diet and should be fed at a rate of 1.5-2.5% of a horse’s body weight. Introduce Standlee Smart Carb Performance gradually into your horse’s diet over seven to fourteen (7-14) days, supplementing the forage and/or pasture with Smart Carb fed at a rate of .05 to 1% lb of body weight per day. (i.e., 6-12lbs /1200lb horse/day) NEVER FEED MOLDY OR INSECT INFESTED FORAGE. ALWAYS PROVIDE FREE-ACCESS TO FRESH, CLEAN WATER.

Feeding

To reduce the risk of rapid consumption that can lead to digestive upset and choke, pellets are recommended to be soaked (2 parts water to 1 part pellet) for a minimum of 30 minutes or until the forage is softened to a soup-like consistency. Weigh the amount of forage provided to each horse before soaking.
